Good Karma

E: “There were probably about twenty blackberries in this container.”
K: “That means with the money we just saved on flights, we could buy twenty-hundred blackberries!”

We must have been nice people lately… We waited too long to purchase flights and this week didn’t have luck finding any tickets for less than $400-500 for Christmas. Then today we were excited to find a roundtrip between Newark and Milwaukee for $317 until one final search where American Airlines came through for us and we found tickets for $208! 🙂 We have to fly into Chicago instead of Milwaukee, but get LaGuardia, which is closer and more convenient than Newark. And we’ll be able to get a bus between O’Hare and Mitchell, where Mom & Dad can easily pick us up, and we still come out way ahead. Direct flights too! So possibly still shorter than a more expensive flight with a layover.

More Wisconsin girls in Manhattan

Kristin & I met Peggy Sue, my University of Wisconsin-Madison Tri-Delta sister, a while ago in Manhattan to watch the Badgers football game with tons of Wisconsin fans. Tons of Badger fans all gathered in New York – very unexpected and so fun! It wasn’t hard to find the bar, Mad River, when there was a huge inflatable Bucky out front. Of course I needed a picture with him!

At halftime, Peggy Sue was (as usual) in the middle of the fun, on top of the bar pouring shots.

And finally the cute picture of the 3 Deltas (how perfect)

Family in NYC

Although we all look a bit tired at the end of the busy weekend, it’s a cute picture of Mom and her two New York daughters from the visit a few weeks ago. Doesn’t Mom’s rainbow sweater look great against the blue wall? 😛

Apartment pics: Through my window

New pictures of life out my window. A new store since we moved in, and the 7 train going by. Only took Dad 15 or so minutes in front of my window to get a good shot with the train.

Apartment pics: My room

My lovely canopy bed and same furniture somehow all fit into the new, smaller room. Little more cramped, but it’s all here, and it’s making me feel more at home.

Okay, well all you can really see in the pics I took is my bed and part of the bookcase. But it’s the best part of the room, so that’s ok for now. And you already saw the funky curtains earlier.

My comfy, cute, girly bed.

Mirror in the corner. I actually kind of like the flash spot, so kept this one.

And the cowboy hat to remind me of the crazy good times in my former state…

And now some pics from my Dad during my parents’ visit. Notice my cow hanging out on the bed. One of the few times you’ll see my bed made so nicely.

And the other corner of my room…

Apartment pics: Kristin’s Room

As clean as you’ll probably ever see it… These pics are from the day Mom & Dad came to visit which was as good a reason as any to organize & clean.

Apartment pics: Art

Kristin’s graduation present was very helpful in decorating our apartment. This painting by Frank Hoeffler (who used to cut our hair at Guys & Dolls salon) is amazingly colorful and interesting. Frank explained that it represents the different layers of oneself, the outer layers you’re willing to show to people, and the more personal inner layers that you reveal to very few people.

Apartment pics: Living Room

Here’s the full living room, some pics with Mom & Kristin lounging on the couch. Kristin almost blends in with the couch!

Our pretty hardwood floors:

Apartment pics: Living Room Closet

Computer, Desk, Sewing machine, and plenty of other crap in our closet. Gotta hide the stuff somewhere. We haven’t quite figured out how to close it up with Kristin working inside of it, but we’ll keep trying…
